I attended a workshop on “Including Persons with Disabilities & Neuro-divergent Talent in the Workplace” recently. Here, I saw a video where Publicis Sapient highlights these people, their struggles and opportunities in PS. Some of these people were working here when PS was still known as Sapient Razorfish. Hence, I am giving an ode to the leadership team and their vision in supporting DEI (Diversity, Equality and Inclusion).
Publicis Sapient, JPMorgan
Chase and Accenture India had come forward to organize this workshop, where
they touched many points about the people, our perception and what is the right thing to say about
them. I loved this video where my friend
Shashwati has been enlightening people. I know Shashwati personally since I am
part of a WhatsApp group where we discuss issues and progress made for people
with disabilities.
Coming back to the point,
below are some of the insights I remember from the workshop:
- Person-first approach: We
should develop a person-first approach and tackle situations accordingly
for each case.
- Custom processes for overall enabling
people: We need to leverage people at various points. We
should take feedback from people with disabilities about our services,
like on insignificant things like office furniture. We may not realize,
but people with disabilities face various challenges in even small tasks.
With slight changes, frequent conversations and constant feedback, we can
make their life easier.
- Inclusion of disabilities related diseases
in medical insurance policies: I like the
thoughtfulness of the panel to broaden the medical insurance spectrum.
When Priyanka Bhatnagar of Accenture India told this, I was silently
rooting for her. ADHD and Autism are more common in our people than what
is known. If counselling sessions for these diseases are covered, it will
be helpful to many people.
Broader spectrum of medical insurance to cover
situations like Autism counselling

I can write for ages on this
topic as it is very close to my heart. However, I feel you should explore more
on your own. You may look old Publicis Sapient Bangalore reviews or
watch videos or interact with these people personally to understand their
perspectives.
It is high time that we start
including people with disabilities in mainstream work and life! It is high time
that we start creating products and services with them in mind.
